Being an advocate of self-learning (because I love learning at my own pace and putting in the required work in order to discover new knowledge) I believe that we learn, develop, and evolve most when we teach ourselves. Don’t get me wrong, I do not intend for you to create the wheel yourself rather I am proposing that you leverage upon the wealth and depth of experience and competence of giants in the industry. Microsoft is a leading tech firm in the technology ecosystem with tested and proven technologies that power a lot of systems in the world.

This article is going to point you on how to learn, develop, and evolve in the tech space using Microsoft free resources. Microsoft has a large range of technological innovations spanning across different products and services from the simple Microsoft Word Document packages, Microsoft Excel Spreadsheets, PowerPoint, PowerBI, Microsoft Dynamics 365 (CRM & ERP), Microsoft Power Apps Platforms, Microsoft Azure (Microsoft Cloud Platforms) on which you can learning technologies like Cloud computing, Data Analysis, Artificial Intelligence, Data Science/Engineering, Internet of Things (IoT), Databases (Relational and NoSQL Databases),Security, Networking, etc.

Microsoft Learn Courses

Microsoft has a world class knowledge base for different technologies curated in a self-paced manner in which anyone can follow up these courses and build reputable skill and experience using these Microsoft courses. To access these courses, you can head to Microsoft Learn or Microsoft Docs to explore whatever courses you want to study in order to develop yourself in a particular skill/technology.

On the Microsoft Learn page, when you click on the Browse the full catalog link you will land on a page containing a huge repository of Microsoft specially curated courses. This page contains a filter feature by products (.NET, App Center, Azure, Consumer, Dynamics 365, Flipgrid, GitHub, HoloLens, Industry Solutions, Microsoft Power Platform, Mixed Reality, etc)

Also, there is a Roles filter option which filters courses based on specific roles you are interested in. The roles filter option contains roles from Administrators, Data Analyst, Business User, Business Owner, Business Analyst, Auditor, App Maker, DevOps, Developer, Data Scientist, Data Engineer, Functional Consultant, etc.). So whatever role you are targeting on developing a skill in, you can search by the roles filter option which will query the Microsoft Learn course database to provide only courses in the specific role.

In the case you are an absolute beginner who has no prior experience with technology, or you are in the intermediate or advanced level, there is always a fundamental or advanced level course to guide you in your journey to becoming whatever you want with the Microsoft Learn curated courses. The Levels filter option helps you to search courses that are related to your experience level.

Finally, there is a filter by Types which includes the Learning Path and Module. The Learning Path includes a series of structured courses linked together in order for you to progress and develop competence in a particular topic. Learning Paths are essentially collections of well curated modules that are organized around specific roles or technologies. When you finish a learning path, you will be equipped with the essential knowledge around different aspects of the role of technology in which the learning path addresses. The Modules aspect are unit courses addressing specific parts of a skill, roles, or technology. For instance, you can take a module about a sub-topic that addresses a particular skill. If you do not want to complete an entire Learning Path, you can just take a module to address what your specific needs are. Simply, Learning Paths are made up of collections of Modules.

Filter by Levels

You can combine one or more filter options to filter the course repository to get different courses. That is, you can filter with the Beginner option, Product, and Types.

In summary, you can learn, develop, and evolve to the top with Microsoft Learn free resources. Microsoft Learn resources are quality courses curated by a top and respected company in the world. Imagine learning and developing your skills with the same resources used by Microsoft internal staff. You can use these treasure troves of timeless resources to learn, develop, and evolve.
